*drool...*
Apr. 3rd, 2006 06:00 pmMeet the hot new Dell Latitude D620.
I want... Dual core tech, sweet!!! *is suddenly torn between working at a paying job toward this or being lab slave toward grad school application*
Thinkpads are my other choice, but they tend to be a bit too expensive for my blood. (Especially since I can't get it discounted/free through some scholarship like certain people...) I need one of those accidental damage coverage plans. My customized hopeful would come in at $1,195 from its current $899 base. Omg, discount right now. >.<
DaPhatWun89: lol im gonna try to customize the most expensive latitude d620 possible
independethought: LOL
DaPhatWun89: woot

on 2006-04-03 10:50 pm (UTC)Thinkpads are the best functionally, and they really aren't that expensive compared to some other brands... but they're fugly. I heard that IBM designed them after some kind of Japanese lunchbox. What kind of model is that for a laptop? x_x
As for me, I like VAIOs >.> Nevermind that they're overpriced, nevermind that Sony has shitty support, they're uh... shiny? ._.
My next laptop'll probably be a Gateway x_x

on 2006-04-03 11:00 pm (UTC)As for harddrive failures, I have had about one every year for the last four years I've had my current Hewatt Packard laptop. I had to pay a shitload for my insurance plan too, which has now expired. I really can't imagine anything more shitty than the one I currently have (probably a Compaq). I refuse to buy any laptop that doesn't offer accidental damage coverage for a few years.
Btw, what do you currently have?

on 2006-04-03 11:27 pm (UTC)I think next time I'll go less for power and more for portability :p On the bright side, since I hardly even take it out of my room, the chances of me dropping it are very low. So I figure that makes up for the lack of good service on Sony's part :P
But like I said, next time I'll probably have to go with a different brand (and a much lighter model ._.).
Despite all that, though, I still love it to bits. Especially it's DVD + RW drive :D And it's shinyyyyyyy~
