I never thought I'd miss !votescramble...
Sep. 4th, 2010 02:23 amI'm thinking it might be time to find a new regular server to play TF2 on. Most of the time I play on Control Point's server. As a girl that actually uses her mic, I'm a bit wary of jumping onto random pub servers to be potentially harassed. So CP-1 has been awesome in that it's never a problem among most of the regulars and admins that smackdown on shit like that.
But lately? Besides the fact the current map rotation sucks ass, it's just not been fun to play there. A lot of the fun people aren't on as much so we're just left with people like... Mint... He's a server admin that borders on "stop having fun, guys" (he's the host of the main competitive TF2 podcast for one thing). I'm making it a rule to not play on the server when he's on. Everyone team-stacks with him because they know they can win that way (I like to joke that he nags and yells his team to victory most of the time). And then there's the inevitable spawn camping when you end up on the team opposite him (which I am most of the time), which while not illegal is just downright discouraging... So it's be spawn camped or be yelled at the entire game.
So yeah, I'm going to stop playing on CP-1 unless I actually see some of the fun/good-humored people playing as well. So that leaves me with finding another server for the 3+ hours Mint is on almost every night.
Or maybe I should just play less TF2 and write more fanfic. :P
