I hope this really works out

That producing tag is probably going probably going to be the main focus of this blog this semester. I'm presently taking a class called Producing for TV and Film (mainly because I couldn't get into Acting for Non-Majors). It's basically about the in's and out's out managing a production, from pitching to treatment writing to itineraries. The final project for this class is to go through the process of making a ~10 minute video from start to finish, with an end product to show on top of that. It's a semester long project course that's already beginning to eat away at my sleep. This and physiology is going to suck up my life, I just know it. I was laid awake in bed for about 2 hours last night until 3AM figuring out my project pitch.

So later this afternoon, I'm going to be pitching my project idea to my professor and some members of my class. Ultimately, I hope it will interest another of my classmates to collaborate with me or I will sign on with someone else's project. I really don't have any networking around campus to put one together all by myself (finding actors and shooting locations is going to be a bitch). *crosses fingers*

The project can be anything: documentary, talk show, comedy skit, music video, anything within the time constraint and within the doable. I suppose this comes at a bad time as I've stopped writing and am no longer employing myself in much of a creative capacity. What do I have at hand right now? I'm thinking of adapting a side-plot from Matsumoto Tomo's Kiss manga (Great shoujo manga, and I absolutely adore the mangaka's style and way with words). Pitch so far?

Seventeen-year-old Taylor had the perfect example of what not to do living with him- his 27-year-old brother currently dating a high school girl almost ten years his junior, and his brother's piano student too. Yet when he hears the high and trembling notes of a whistled tune from blood red lips, suddenly the question "Why would anyone knowingly do something so stupid?" becomes irrelevant.

Yeah, I'm working on that...

To make a long story short, Alecto is about to embark upon the first step to making a 10 minute short student film. Wish me luck...
