I really don't know what to say about some of my high school friends. I guess some may say they're of the slacker/underachieving type. It's such a refreshing breath of air from the manic grade-driven people I've been surrounded with (myself included I guess). So I was told last Friday I was part of a Secret Santa exchange. Except since none of us really celebrate Christmas in the actual sense of the holiday, gifts would be exchanged after Christmas.

On Monday, I went to the Met with [livejournal.com profile] dm_san. I got a chance to see some of the other permanent exhibits I haven't seen yet. We also saw the Van Gogh special exhibit, which was easily the most crowded of all the special exhibits. The exhibit on photography and the occult was kind of disappointing. Most of the Egyptian gallery that was closed in years past was reopened. I regret not having gone into the Bohemian art special exhibit. I talked with Diulio about the special exhibits currently at the Met and he said the Gothic art was really interesting. Maybe I'll go back again just to see the Prague exhibit and a few others that I skipped. Lol, don't suppose anyone would be up to that?

Afterwards, we went over to midtown 5th Ave to visit Asahiya and Book-off. We had lunch/dinner at Cafe Zawaya(?), a Japanese bakery/restuarant right next to Book-Off. Evan came all the way out to Manhattan just to get his cupcakes, lol.

So, there was a history club reunion sort of thing today. I got a chance to see Munich, which was a pretty good movie overall, if not a bit long. It does make the fight against terrorism seem very cyclical and neverending. There are a few other points I might nitpick about but purely from a narrative and cinematic point of view. Afterwards, we trekked down to 26th St and 3rd Ave to have dinner at an Afgani place. I really should be careful when I order food for novelty's sake. Noodles in yogurt and butter mint did not agree too well for me. Afterwards, coffee at Starbucks and general reminicing/bitching about the good old alma mater. BS has a larger budget than I expected, and it turns out you can make up to 100 thousand a year as an administrator in a school with overtime. Diulio is still an awesome teacher. I really wished I had had him back in high school.

BTW, can someone help me with a bit of lj coding? I'm working on a new style with the S1 system and I can't seem to code it to show the icon for each entry on the main journal page. Help would bring you much love and virtual cookies. <3

next time, we'll bring wheel chairs so we dont get tired and we'll juice the looking at stuff at the met XD

actually if you switch to S2, its easier to code now. That's what i've been on, but then i am lazy to actually do anything >.>;
