Mutual Destruction

You can see it clearly in her eyes sometimes.

What transgressions have I committed in a previous life to deserve you?

You have no sympathies for her.  You ask yourself the same question often enough.  She has the gall to lecture you on improvement.  It’s almost enough to make you laugh- this from a woman caught up in recapturing the more youthful years she lost by marrying the wrong man.

Don’t be so crude.

Heartless.

Immoral.

The word “hypocrite” sits on the tip of your tongue.

It’s far worse when he’s angry though.  When he’s mad, your entire world tips over on its axis, because he knows how to work himself into a proper rage.  Sometimes things are thrown but a hand is always raised in anger, even if it fails to make contact.

Useless.

Lazy.

Evil little bitch.

You’re lucky he doesn’t drink.

When you’re finally as empty as they always claimed you were, you can see with startling clarity that you would give anything for them to suffer.  Just because one good turn always deserves another and a policy of mutual destruction is always preferable to one of exclusive self-destruction.

Heheh -- not really. I mean if you present it as fiction I try to read it as such. I know if you psychoanalyze *my* fiction the only logical conclusion is that I'm a necrophiliac pedophile serial killer, so I try to avoid doing that to others.
