So these are the best years of my life?
Oct. 16th, 2007 01:46 amSo I've neglected this LJ for quite a long time. Part of it was definitely due to having gone to China, hurray for the LJ ban!
Being a senior sucks so badly sometimes. Trying to find a job is a full 12 unit course within itself. I've given my resumes to a number of companies in hope they'll have some interest in me. So far, the main areas I've been looking into have been market research, marketing, data analysis (it appears statistics is my greatest marketable skill set thus far >.>), and user experience research (not design per say as I lack the design background to compete with all the HCI students around here). Basically a lot of my focus has been on tech companies of some sort. I attended an info session today with comScore Inc. and it sounds like a good opportunity, mainly focused on taking internet traffic data and extracting market trends for .com industries. I'm still mostly gunning for enspire Learning's Fellowship program at this point. The company sounds like such a creative and great place to work at. The idea of creating something is the main attractive point to me, even if I would have to relocate to Austin, TX. Things look bleak on the Google side, mainly because Google severely limits the number of non-technical positions (hell, even HR rejected me right off the track). But it wasn't as if I was expecting much interest from Google.
My parents tell me I can't be rushed but I have a hard time believing that they actually believe that. The sooner I can secure an offer, the better I'll feel at least.
I will be going to see the Bodies exhibit next Friday here in Pittsburgh. Haha, nothing like a geeky date to go look at stripped cadavers. At least it's something to look forward to.
P.S. I really do despise developmental psychology. Why do I have to take this class? >.
