In which I obviously have way too much free time
So my long-awaited package from yesasia.com arrived today with my copy of Forbidden City Cop (Stephen Chow rules!) and volume 10 of The Exhibition of CLAMP's Worlds 1989-2004 (featuring xxxHOLIC and Legal Drug).
It comes with a white Mokona pawn, a Yuuko black queen, and a Fai black bishop collector's chess pieces. I'm now itching to collect the rest of the pieces... ^^;;; I ordered the official Chinese licensed version instead, since I can't read a lick of Japanese (ok, maybe a lick but that's not going to do much for me). Omg, the pretty pictures from both xxxHOLIC and Legal Drug. There are also interviews with CLAMP, which I may sit down and translate later. At the end, there's this cute little story about the two Mokonas- now that they're separated and with two different groups of people. Ever wonder if the two still talk to each other?
I think this is a story from that series of children stories based around the two Mokonas written by Ageha Ohkawa (of CLAMP). I've included the original Chinese from the magazine along with the translation under each line. Please excuse any awkward phrasings in English. The Chinese don't like using pronouns that much more than the Japanese... Note, requires some passing knowledge of both Tsubasa and xxxHOLIC to understand the Mokonas' discussion.
《若能在夢中相逢》
To Be Able to Meet Each Other Within Dreams
For your reference:
Soel = white Mokona with Syaoran-tachi (Tsubasa)
Larg = black Mokona with Watanuki and Yuuko (xxxHOLIC)
蘇愛兒與拉格﹐就此天各一方。
These days, Soel and Larg live far away from each other.
一直以來﹐牠們都陪伴在侑子身邊入眠。總是那個開心﹑善良的四眼小哥哥把牠們喚醒的。
All along, they had always been by Yuuko's side in their sleep. In the end, it was that happy and kind-hearted four-eyed onii-san (chan?) that woke them up.
拉格一直跟侑子在一起。
Larg has been together with Yuuko since.
「太好了呢。」
"This is great, huh?"
「嗯﹐太好了。」
"Eh, this is great."
其實還有經過一段很長的時間﹐牠們兩個才能再次在一起。
The truth is they will have to pass a long period of time before the two of them will have a chance to be together again.
可是﹐牠們一點都不寂寞。因為不管是蘇愛兒還是拉格﹐牠們都各自與一些很好的人在一起。
But they don't feel a bit lonely. No matter if it's Soel or Larg, they're both with a group of good people.
不過﹐
But...
還是有寂寞的時間。蘇愛兒是﹐拉格也是。侑子也是。其他的人﹐也都一樣。
There are also times when they feel lonely- Soel would be, Larg would also be. Yuuko too. Other people are also the same.
不過﹑不過﹐
But...But...
克洛不在呢。最喜歡﹑最喜歡的...
Clow isn't here though. The most favorite...the most favorite...
蘇愛兒則跟著四個人一起去了旅行。
Soel followed four people to go traveling.
可是﹐縱然隔著千山萬水﹐但牠們就像打電話那樣﹐總是在對談著。聽得到彼此的聲音。
But even if they are separated by thousands of miles, they can still talk with each other as if over the telephone- hear each other's voice.
而且﹐
Moreover...
克洛不在了。
Clow is no longer here.
每當我一說..「好寂寞」時﹐侑子就會告訴我..
Every time I say "So lonely," Yuuko would tell me...
「不是的﹐克洛就在我們的身邊。」
"That's not true. Clow is by our side."
在哪裡﹖他在哪裡﹖
Where? Where is he?
「在這裡。」侑子指著拉格的胸膛。
"Here." Yuuko points at Larg's chest.
這裡﹖
Here?
「蘇愛兒和拉格都記得克洛吧﹖」
"Soel and Larg both still remember Clow, right?"
是的﹐我們都記得。
Yes, we both still remember.
「你們會忘記他嗎﹖」
"Will you forget him?"
我們不會。我們會一直記得他。
We will not. We will always remember him.
不論相隔多遠﹐只要在夢中﹐牠們就能相逢。
No matter how far they are separated, they can still meet each other within dreams.
不僅聽到彼此的聲音﹐牠們還一起玩﹐一起跑。
Not only can they hear each other's voice, they can play together- run together.
今天也會在夢中相逢。蘇愛兒和拉格牠們相見了。
Today they are also meeting within dreams. Soel and Larg are meeting.
「你好嗎﹖」
"How are you?"
「好啊﹐你呢﹖」
"Good, and you?"
「當然不錯。」

「上次你送來的法式朱古力﹑非常好吃。」
"The fondant chocolate you sent last time was really delicious."
「是四月一日做的。那是為情人節作的準備。」
"Watanuki made it. It was for Valentine's Day."
「四月一日就是那個四眼小哥哥吧。他做的菜非常有水準呢。」
"Watanuki is that four-eyed onii-san then. The food he made is really superb."
「做得非常好吃呀。小狼他們也吃了嗎﹖」
"Really was delicious. Did Syaoran-tachi also eat them?"
「嗯﹐大家都吃了。雖然黑鋼不喜歡﹐不過很合法伊的口味﹗」
"Um, everyone ate them. Even though Kurogane didn't like it, it was to Fai's taste!"
「不過侑子就生氣了。因為她在白色情人節收不到回禮。」
"But Yuuko's mad, because she didn't receive a return gift for White Day."
牠們一起笑。手牽著手一起笑。
They laugh together- laugh together hand-in-hand.
「羽毛呢﹖」
"The feathers?"
「雖然只是得很少﹐但我們仍在收集中。小狼拼命的尋找。小櫻的身體也開始慢慢復原了。」
"Even though we only have a few, we're continuing to collect them. Syaoran is giving it his all. Sakura-chan's body is slowly beginning to recover."
「那麼﹐克洛就活在我們的身邊。」
"That way, Clow will always be at our side." (Dude, this line has to be foreshadowing... Right, right?!)
沒錯。只要我們記得﹐克洛就會存在。一直﹑一直﹐直至永遠。
That's right. As long as we remember, Clow will live on. Forever and ever until eternity.
每當這麼想﹐寂寞的感覺就好像減少一點。可是﹐沒有克洛帶著笑容﹑用他的雙手親切的撫摸牠們﹐始終還是覺得很寂寞。
Every time they think like that, the feeling of loneliness seems to lessen a bit. But without Clow's smile- Clow using his hands to pet them- they still feel very lonely in the end.
就是這樣﹐蘇愛兒和拉格...牠們在夢中相逢了。
That's the way it is. Soel and Larg...they can meet each other within dreams.

Just wondering, did you get your CLAMP no kiseki from YesAsia? I really want to get the chinese version as well, but the one that came with the Fuuma chess piece is sold out *cries*
Oh, and is the chinese the traditional version, or simplified chinese? I don't understand the simplified version at all..
