Supernatural doesn't have a theme song/opening sequence. Considering Smallville's "SOMEBODY SAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEE MEEEEEEE!", this may be a good thing

Sarah Michelle Geller is returning in a new series to the <strike>WB</strike>CW this fall; along with something that looks like Charmed retooled for a younger audience? (with a scene in the commercial that looks ripped right out of the Twilight movie)

( And most importantly... (Spoilers under the cut) )

Man, I really hope some fandom wank comes out of this episode. Mostly because I just like reading about it.

comments

I'm kinda stupidly excited for tonight's Smallville series finale. It's going to be terrible. They're going to stuff as many bit parts/cameos as possible (I would lol like hell if Michael Shanks comes back as Hawkman again, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN SMALLVILLE!). Nothing with Darkseid will make sense, much less canon sense. And I hope evil!Lex fucks Clark up good (...not like that...).

Not to mention, Comics Alliance is going to be liveblogging the episode!

ETA WHY HAS NOTHING HAPPENED A QUARTER OF THE WAY THROUGH? I can't take much more of this Lois and Clark angst. Lois, you're Lois fucking Lane. You deserve better than imposter!Clark!

ETA 2 I know you're superhuman and all, Clark, but seeing and conversing with your dead father can't be healthy.

ETA 3 This would have actually been kinda compelling if they had compressed the first hour's events into about 20 minutes instead. I still don't understand their need to reinterpret the Superman mythos in cosmic terms (i.e., prophecies, light and darkness, balance).

ETA 4 I TAKE IT BACK! I TAKE IT BACK! No amount of editing could change the sheer fail of this script!

ETA 5 It's over! BRB LOLING 4EVER!

comments

One of my guilty pleasures is watching Smallville and reveling in what a terrible adaptation of the Superman mythos it is. I'm not even going to start on the acting, writing, or dialogue here.

The tenth and final season, Clark has still yet to adopt the Superman costume even though the S shield emblem has been shown many times before. Hell, we even have a Supergirl before a Superman. All we get is his Thriller jacket.

Darkseid as la the smoke monster from Lost will be epic, or at the very least epically bad!

( More gif spam below the cut because I think Smallville gifs are the funniest thing evar! )

comments

It comes from a place of arrogance to think we’re perfect because that means we believe we’re better than everybody else. We will always be looked at through a filter of one dimensional positivity and never as multi-dimensional humans. It’s because of this insidious need to be perceived as perfect that, as a culture, we rarely ever directly address topics of taboo and dysfunction. We deal in avoidance, suppress emotions, turn away from confrontation, only to let it fester like a cancer so it eventually expresses itself in ugly ways...The reason why I’m producing this K-TOWN show is because I want to celebrate being Asian and all the wonderful baggage that comes with it! Yes, we Asians are smart, play the piano, work hard, but at the same time we’re sexy, stylish, have swagger, and we can party and fuck up just like everybody else."
- Mike Le

The article is deeply personal and surprisingly honest. I feel it comes from a place that a lot of Asian Americans share about their heritage and background- our ambiguity and reluctance about how and where we fit.

comments
