Some random thoughts about new TV

So here are some thoughts about the new summer TV season.

All links provided go to Hulu.

Psych (USA): Psych is one of my absolute favorite shows of the summer season for the last two years. I love the characters, the humor, and the show is extremely self-aware for contemporary television (which may have something to do with the two main actors/producers being POCs). And now it's back! First episode of the season is a take on the Chinese/Hong Kong triad story. And I think poor Ken was my favorite part of the episode. It should not have been so satisfying to see Shawn get his ass kicked. xD

Warehouse 13 (Syfy): I have really ambiguous feelings toward this show. At times, it's so bad that it's good. But most of the time, it's just plain bad... I've always been less than impressed by the two main leads, and Artie just grates on the nerve after a while. The way McPhearson was killed off in the first episode of the season just seemed lazy and the "lol, HG Wells is a woman!" angle was not very surprising considering the amount of cinematographic foreshadowing.

White Collar (USA): Not much to say at the moment. It's the yuppier version of crime procedurals with Bryce Larkin! But the quality is consistent enough that it's at least entertaining.

Royal Pains (USA): I'm just mostly glad that we're moving away from the Hank/Jill angst. Although given that the next big obstacle appears to be the soulless bitchy rival doctor, I think I'll take the romantic relationship drama instead.

Moyashimon (The Drama) (noitamina): I've never seen the original Moyashimon anime, but I've heard good things about it. Mike and I both immensely enjoyed the first episode and will be staying tuned. Let's brew!

Black Butler II (Anime): I watched it out of curiosity and immediately regretted it. Thankfully, the little blond douchy earl is not actually the star of the series. It looks like more of the same as the first series. Will not be watching anymore.
